Captain Andrew Sell fishing

From Ozark Kid to Professional Captain

Growing up in the shadow of the Ozark Mountains, Andrew Sell spent his life on the lakes of Southwest Missouri. Table Rock Lake wasn't just a playground — it was a classroom. From a young age he learned the lake's moods, its seasonal rhythms, and the patience it demands to consistently catch fish when conditions aren't perfect.

At just 24 years old, Andrew has already built a reputation as one of the area's most passionate and knowledgeable young guides. His competitive roots run deep — he fished for the Logan-Rogersville High School Fishing Team before going on to compete with the Missouri State University Fishing Team. What began as a lifelong love of fishing turned into a guiding career after friends and family couldn't stop asking him to take them out, and that tournament background sharpened his technical skills and deepened his understanding of fish behavior at every level.

Andrew founded Big Game Outdoors to share that experience with anglers from all walks of life. Whether you've been fishing since childhood or you've never held a rod, he'll meet you where you are and put fish in the boat.

No — all fishing equipment is provided. Captain Andrew supplies quality rods, reels, live bait, and a full selection of artificial lures. You're welcome to bring your own gear if you prefer, but it's not required. Just bring yourself and your fishing license!
Yes. Every angler 16 and older must have a valid Missouri fishing license. Andrew does not provide licenses — you must purchase yours before the trip. Visit our Fishing Permit page for full details on which license to buy and where to get it. Children under 16 fish for free.
Bring your fishing license, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, weather-appropriate clothing, snacks if you'd like, and any medications you may need. Andrew provides water and soft drinks. Comfortable closed-toe shoes are recommended — deck shoes or sneakers work great. Leave the flip-flops at the dock.
Most trips depart at sunrise — typically between 6:00–6:30 AM depending on the season. Early morning is prime fishing time, so Andrew likes to be on the water when the fish are most active. Exact times will be confirmed when you book. Half-day afternoon trips are available upon request.
Standard trips accommodate up to 4 anglers. Big Game Outdoors is a private charter service — you'll always have the boat to your group, never share with strangers.
Safety is always the priority. Andrew monitors weather daily and will contact you 24–48 hours before your trip if conditions are unsafe. In the event of a weather cancellation, you'll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule at no charge. Light rain is generally not a reason to cancel — fish often bite better in overcast conditions!
Absolutely! All fish kept are subject to Missouri state regulations regarding size and daily limits. Andrew will clean and fillet your catch at the end of the trip at no extra charge. Catch-and-release trips are also available if you prefer.
Yes! Andrew loves introducing new anglers to fishing. He's patient, encouraging, and great with kids. Crappie and trout trips are especially popular for families because the action tends to be more consistent. Children under 16 don't need a license and fish free with a paying adult.
Spring (March–May) and fall (September–October) are the most popular seasons and book up fast — sometimes weeks or months in advance. Summer and winter dates tend to have more availability. If you have specific dates in mind, book as early as possible. Last-minute openings occasionally come available, so it never hurts to ask.
